Best Egg Laying Chickens

Best Egg Laying Chickens

When I first started looking to raise chickens, I knew that I wanted chicken breeds that laid a lot of eggs all-year round.  I didn’t want fancy chickens for show.  I wanted eggs, lots of them.  So, if that is what you are also looking for, here are some of the best egg laying chickens you can find.

If you are looking for chickens that lay eggs all year round, you will need to focus on chickens that are cold-hardy and can survive winter temperatures.  All of the chickens that I currently have are cold-hardy.  But I know several of my friends whose chickens have gone on “strike” at the first sign of snow.  I admit it felt rather good when I said, “my chickens are still laying!”  So keep an eye out for that if cold will be factor for where you reside.
